The proposed research uses a critical political economy and combines insights from economics, history, politics, international relations, development studies, business, and sociology to characterise continuities and ruptures in structures of production and exports in the former Portuguese colonies in Africa.

Biography

Victoria Stadheim is a Senior Lecturer in Economics. She holds a PhD from SOAS University of London, and prior to joining the University of Hertfordshire in 2023, she taught at the University of Winchester, Kings College London, and SOAS. Her research interests focus on economic crises and restructuring in times of crisis, and her approach lies at the intersection between heterodox economics and international political economy.
