Professor O’Dell is a critical developmental psychologist in the Faculty of Wellbeing, Education and Language Studies at the Open University, UK.
As a researcher Lindsay has worked with children, young people and families to explore their experiences including young carers, young language brokers, visible difference, autism, neurodiversity and alternative family care. Recently projects have included evaluating an arts-based programmes for children with disabilities and complex needs (in association with MK Gallery and the Rix Foundation). and the experiences of young people with life-limiting and life-shortening conditions. Lindsay has published widely in journals and has authored three books, including her newly published book ‘A feminist companion to developmental psychology’ (co-authored with Charlotte Dann).
