A New Perspective on Two Centuries of French Public Debt

By reconstructing new data series from 1815 to the present, using an original methodology and drawing on a wide and comprehensive corpus of data published since the beginning of the 20th century, this study offers a novel perspective on historical and contemporary French public debt.

Biography

Juliette de Pierrebourg holds a Research Master’s degree in Comparative Politics from Sciences Po Paris. She previously worked as a Research Associate at Institut Avant-garde, where she focused on issues related to financing the green transition. As an independent researcher, her work explores the political economy of public debt, crisis politics, and a wide range of subjects and research interests. A French-Argentine dual citizen, she works across both European and Latin American contexts.
