Protection on Probation: Co-produced Research on Conditional Refugee Protection in the UK

This project addresses two questions: (1) how do refugees interpret and respond to emerging contribution-based expectations in the UK asylum system? and (2) how might co-produced research reshape the conceptual categories used to study these policies?

Biography

Cornelius Katona is Honorary Professor in the Division of Psychiatry at University College London and Honorary Medical and Research Director at the human rights charity, Helen Bamber Foundation (HBF). He also leads on Refugee and Asylum Mental Health for the Royal College of Psychiatrists and has over 20 years’ experience in research and clinical practice in mental health and forced migration.
