Biography

Dr Candice Lemon-Scott holds a PhD (English) (University of Newcastle) and Bachelor of Communication / Diploma of Arts (Professional Writing and Editing) (Monash University & Chisholm Institute). Her research explores nonbinary identity and empowering young people through literature. Her work in this field is published in books and journals including The Routledge Companion to Gender and Childhood and Leaf Journal. Author of 15 books for children, many have been published internationally and received awards recognition. Advocating reading for pleasure, Candice is an ambassador for Books in Homes and Reading Australia and peer reviewer for Lancaster University’s Leaf Journal.
